Burton Safes will be on Stand C20, in Hall 4.

They will be exhibiting a range of safes from their successful Eurovault series, along with some more specialist Deposit Safes and Key Safes. Also on show will be some high tech safe locks from Kaba and Insys. These include a new IP lock that allows various lock features to be programmed remotely, a new high security biometric lock for safes and a one time code CIT safe lock that s operated using a pre-programmed transponder card.

Burton attempt to create the Ultimate Home Safe

In February 2008 Burton Safes launched its EVO safe range. In 2009 it will be making further improvements to this product in an attempt to create the ultimate home safe.

Offering a choice of two different cash ratings, the EVO is independently attack tested to the European standard EN14450. This makes it one of the few domestic safes on the UK market that can claim to be properly tested and therefore offer a guaranteed level of security. The EVO S1 offers a cash rating of £2,000 or £20,000 for jewellery, whilst the EVO S2 offers a substantial £4,000 cash rating or £40,000 for jewellery.

In 2009 the Evo is being given a smart makeover, making it as attractive on the outside as it is on the inside. This popular safe range will also be made available with electronic locking from May onwards.

The EVO offers domestic safe users a number of useful internal features that separates it from the crowd. A full carpet interior means that your jewellery and other valuables will not get scratched when depositing them as well as giving you a sense of luxury. An internal light makes viewing the contents of your safes much easier, often a consideration overlooked by many safe manufacturers given that home safes are often located in dark cupboards. There are also key hooks for car keys and spare house keys, along with a useful document holder that keeps items such as passports in an easy to find place. Add in to that some fire resistance in the S2 model and Burton think that the EVO is the ideal Home Safe.

New Products for 09

Burton Safes are pleased to announce that several new products will be launched between January 2009 and May 2009.

The Firebrand Range is being given a smart makeover and two new sizes will be introduced in April 09. This fire safe offers great value for money and will protect paper documents for up to one hour at temperatures approaching 1000°C.

In April an extremely competitive range of high security key safes will be offered for sale. They are designed to be more user friendly and more affordable than many alternatives currently on the market. Featuring simple to use electronic locks and deeper than standard depths Burton expect the KS range of key safe to be a big success with car dealerships, schools and universities and other large commercial sites.

In January Burton introduced a new Keyguard, the KG Combi. This is a lower cost alternative to the KG Digital, used by many social services departments to allow carers to gain access to domestic properties. Featuring a dial type combination lock, instead of the Push Button this model will take keys up to 90mm long, far bigger than most of the current competition.

Finally biometric locking will be made available on all Eurograded safes, including the Magnum series in 2009. Burton Safes are very excited about this move as it will make them one of the first on the UK market to offer this simple locking technology available on high security safes. The locks will be fully certified to the relevant European standards and offer great potential for both domestic and commercial users.

Burton revolutionise the safe

Burton are launching two new safes for 2008 that are aimed to improve customer experience.

The Elegance range features a novel LCD touchscreen keypad that is back-lit so it can be easily seen in dark cupboards. As safes are often located in dark corners it can be difficult to read the keypad on electronic models. The Elegance solves this problem with a highly visible blue screen that changes colour when the correct code is entered. The simple to use keypad features 2 user codes, an anti-tamper alarm, battery level indicator and time & date display.

The Evo range is designed specifically for the home and office market. This series helps address the problem of seeing the contents of your safe with a neat internal light triggered by retracting the boltwork. As well as this, there are several other features that should make using your safe more practical. There are key hooks on the back of the door and the larger models have a document/passport holder too. The safes are internally finished with a complete carpet interior for a luxury look and feel that is ideal for storing items such as jewellery.

Burton expands premises

Burton Safes have recently moved to new warehouses are part of their current expansion programme. It is hoped that the new facilities will mean that they can hold more stock and therefore offer a quicker and better delivery service to their customers.

Burton join forces with Kaba

Burton Safes are proud to have become official agents for Kaba locks. Kaba are one of the market leaders in safe locking technology and Burton believe that their product quality is second to none. From 2008 Burton Safes will be switching most of their key locking safes to use the Mauer President and they will also begin to introduce the Kaba 525 Electronic lock as a standard optional extra for their Eurovault Range. The 525 is a superior electronic lock with multiple user codes, audit trail, time delay, time windows and dual user options.

New Commercial Range

Burton Safes have just launched a large new range of safes aimed at commercial premises. The range encompasses freestanding safes in grades 0-5, fire and data safes, deposit safes and high security key safes.

Tested to European standards, the safes are of a very high quality and offer excellent value for money. Many use the latest technology in build design to achieve high security whilst remaining relatively light-weight, making upstairs installations possible. You will also find high tech locking systems, designed specifically for businesses with multi user functions as well as time delay, time lock and audit trail facilities. The Data safes offer the best protection available today for your vital computer media, with the Data 4000 series offering particularly high cover.

Burton Safes join Raid Control

Burton Safes are pleased to announce that they have recently become full members of the Raid Control initiative.

Raid-control is a new crime prevention initiative that aims to raise security standards in retail premises, thereby reducing the potential for commercial robbery and create a safer working environment.

The Police and local authorities help fund the increased security standards and results of a case study in Manchester have proved that the scheme has been successful in substantially reducing robbery.

To become a Raid Control approved premises retailers must undertake to install 5 key security measures in their shops. One of these measures is to have safes with time delay locks. Burton Safes have several products in their range suitable for this purpose which can be found on this website.

Exciting new launch at the Furniture Show

Burton Safes recently launched their new High Security Furniture range at The Furniture Show 2005 at the NEC this January. This show is the largest exhibition for the furniture trade in the UK and is attended by independent & multiple retail outlets as well as architects and interior designers.

The feedback from the show was extremely positive with nearly all visitors to the stand being impressed with both the quality of the furniture and the concept of combining a cabinet with a high security safe. Of particular interest to many people was the Chelsea model 7000, which can be used as a cupboard or as a gun safe.

Car Key Theft

In recent years there has been a dramatic rise in the theft of car keys. This has come about due to the increased security measures that car manufacturers have introduced on newer models. It has predominantly been the introduction of immobilisers on all new vehicles sold in the EU that has meant that thieves are no longer able to hotwire new vehicles. According to a government survey a staggering 85% of cars registered after 1997 were stolen using the keys.

Often criminals use very simple and quick methods of obtaining your keys. Many of us leave our keys downstairs within easy reach of a door or window. This means that a burglar can see his target and get in and out of the house quickly. Often all they will do is put a 'Fishing Rod' through your letter box and hook your keys onto it. As Jill Willis of Norwich Union says, "Most of us would never dream of leaving £14,000 lying around the home - the average cost of a new car - so it pays to be more cautious. "

We have recently introduced the Keyguard Electronic to combat the disturbing new wave of car key theft from peoples' homes. This small electronic safe has been specifically designed to be unobtrusive and convenient to use for the safe storage of car keys, mobile phones, wallets and jewellery.

For more details on the Keyguard Electronic please see the Key Safes section of this site.
