b'CASE STUDYBespoke Ballistic Panic Rooms, Kensington, LondonWe were approached by a construction company who were renovating a period property in one of Londons most affluent and prestigious postcodes. The residence was already some way through its refurbishment and we were required to secure two rooms against both physical attack & ballistic weapons. Furthermore we were required to supply doors to these rooms that matched the others within the property, so as to blend in seamlessly with the period surroundings. The complexity and sophistication of the building management systems resulted in a huge amount of cabling and ductwork within the walls floor and ceiling for us to work around. This made securing the installation very challenging since most of this infrastructure was already installed. As with many Embassy panic rooms that we fit, the rooms were upstairs on wooden floorboards and therefore weight was a constraint. Our Research & Development team came up with a bespoke solution that met the full brief. The wallinggaveballisticresistancetoEN1522FB4,whichprotectsagainstthemostpowerfulof handguns. In addition it was also designed to resist attacks with power tools, axes and sledge hammers. We used our Janus Armoured Doors, also with FB4 ballistic protection. These heavily protected steel doors are clad with special decorative panels to give the impression of a normal domestic door. The panels can be matched to hundreds of different designs to match the surroundings of any building, old or new. These doors are independently tested and certified to the European Burglary Resistance Standard EN1627 RC4. They have a double lock on them which is quick and very simple to manually operate in the event that you are under threat. All of the locks and cylinders are tested and certified to the highest European standards for attack resistance EN12209 & EN1303 and the keys are protected against copying. 84'
